Angry

*sigh* I’m angry.  It’s been distracting me all day.  I should be working on work things right now but this weekend I just experienced 2 really big fails by people who should know better.  My wife’s mother and father are moving away from the area. They will be living in a place we won’t visit for our mental health and safety. So this weekend was basically goodbye. I’m angry because even though I understand why they made this choice I still think it’s the wrong choice.  It takes them away from family that they should be trying to get closer[…]

4 Am

Me; zzzzzzzzzz My Brain: hey wake up! Me: wha? Why? *checks time* Brain! Its 4am! Wtf? We have a busy day ahead. We need to sleep. We got to bed late and this is way too early to get up. Go back to sleep. My Brain: valid points and well argued! Kudos! But we need to think about everything we are doing on Saturday plus like 90 other things! Plus remember that one time… Me: Brain! Stop! No! Go back to sleep! My Brain: but what about this? Or this? Or this!? Oh oh and Money! We need to think[…]

Tetris queen

Day 3: so that whole thing about the truck being too big was true but we might have wanted one a little bigger than the one we got. Also true is that its possible that my wife has a challenger for Tetris queen. What I saw happen this morning with the last of my sisters stuff getting fitted into the truck was pretty amazing. There was some desperate unpacking and repacking right there at the end but the fact is that everything made it in and there is room for our luggage. Epic is the word. That was some epic[…]

Change and adventure

Day 1: The sounds of soft southern drawls surround me. I’m on the last leg of a flight into Nashville. Ever so polite older white people have filled the plane. They are travelling to Nashville for a wedding. I predict there will be an exhausted but stunningly happy bride somewhere this weekend hugging her Aunt Barbara. Me on a plane is always kind of a crap shoot. As a tall lady of size I don’t fit in the seats well and encroach on my neighbors seat territory. Luckily for two of the three legs of the flight my sister and[…]

Occasionally I worry

There are times I wonder about the decisions I make.  Fairly often I go with what my gut tells me would be great fun.  The less time between that decision and the action of follow through the better because when I have time to reconsider I have a tendency to worry or over plan or just plain over think all of the reasons my choice was a dumb idea.  The farther out the time between the decision and the action the worse it gets. Right now I am seriously rethinking my decision to go on a road trip with my[…]
